Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
A big thank you we had a cheque for £68.50 from Rags2Riches for all the clothes we recycled with them last year. They will be visiting again in the new year and we will keep you posted and send bags home with the children. Thank you for all your support.
The Foundation Phase children (Except Dosbarth Coch as they had already seen Santa in Colliers farm) had a visit from Santa yesterday. Good news all the children have made it on to the good list and recieved a selection box provided by the PTA. Mrs Gould and Mrs Pepperell even managed to get a selfie with him before he returned to the North Pole to get ready for the big day.
Our hall set up again, but this time for the free Christmas toy raffle.
The hall looked amazing today for the school Christmas party. All the children had a lovely day.
Dear parents and carers,
Welcome to our December newsletter.
This has been a very busy month with lots of festive activities and events. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support over the past few weeks.
The Christmas concerts were very well-supported and raised a fantastic £779 on concert tickets and raffle sales.

We will be holding our Christmas parties on Wednesday 20th of December. Children can come to school in their party clothes but we ask that parents are wary of the weather forcast and the suitability of the clothing for a day in school. Dinner will be as normal. The children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will have their party in the hall 1.30-2.15pm. They will then return to their class while staff prepare and decorate the hall. All children will then return to the hall for their party food. Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and 2 children can then be collected from their classes at 3.15pm. Years 3-6 will return to the hall for their disco which be until 4.30pm. These children can be collected from their classrooms at 4.30pm. All children must be collected, no child will be allowed to walk home alone. The children will not need any money for this party.
Thank you to all families for the kind donations for Children in Need. We raised
£109!
Diolch yn fawr.
Reminder to all families that as tomorrow is Children in Need we will have a non-uniform day. We ask that all participating children make a donation of up to £1 to support the cause.
Welcome to our October newsletter.
As always here at Greenhill, we have been very busy with lots happening!
We are very proud of the learning that is happening across the school! I’m sure those of you who follow us on X (Twitter) are enjoying seeing the messages and photographs of some fantastic work and experiences.
We invite all families to follow us on X, search for @greenhill10 and you will find us.
We pride ourselves on offering children a range of experiences whilst at Greenhill Primary. Over the past 8 weeks various children across the school have been on educational visits, to St Fagans for example, and worked with visitors to the school, including musicians to teach drum, guitar, dood and p-buzz.
We have also ensured that our children’s learning extends beyond the general curriculum, including workshops on climate change, the Ambulance Service working with our older children to increase their knowledge of CPR and defibrillator use to save lives, and Dosbarth Gwyrdd working with Kerbcraft to increase their awareness of road safety.
Report to Parents
The Governing Body report to parents is now available on the school website www.greenhillprm.co.uk
Costume Swap
Many thanks to those families who donated halloween costumes. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
After half-term, Mrs Gould will contact families about our Christmas Jumper Swap. This was very popular last year, so dig out the old jumpers that no longer fit and we will see if we can find them new homes.
Communication
Please ensure we are kept up-to-date with any changes of phone number or address.
SeeSaw is our preferred method of communication. It is essential that all parents and carers download the SeeSaw app so you can keep up to date with letters and messages.
Healthy Eating
Thank you for supporting us with our drive for healthy snacks. It has been lovely to see the number of children enjoying the healthy free school meals. Please note that from next term, sweets eg lollies, haribos and winders, will not be permitted in packed lunch boxes
.
Welcome Abigail Evans
We are very pleased to inform parents and carers that Abi Evans has joined our staff at Greenhill. Abi has been filling the big shoes left by Janet Davies in the school office for some time now and we are pleased to say that she is to join us permanently.
