Identifying Needs
We want every child at Greenhill to be successful. In order for us to ensure this can happen we need to be skilled at identifying emerging needs that may impact on the children's learning.
All staff at Greenhill are proactive in identifying emerging needs. These needs could be under the following headings.
- Speech Language and communication skills (SLCD)
- Behavioural, Emotional & Social Difficulties (BESD)
- Moderate learning difficulties (MLD)
- Severe Learning difficulties
- Profound and multiple learning difficulties
- Physical and medical needs - ASD
- Multi-Sensory Impairment
- SPLD to include Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Dyscalculiar & Dysgrahia
- Multi Sensory Impairment
- Hearing Impairment
- Visual Impairment
Once a child has been identified as having emerging needs they start on a journey called 'The Graduated Response'.
