    Dear parents and carers,

A new school year begins! It is lovely to welcome all out children back and I am sure they will all settle quickly into their new classes.

    Inspection

As many of you know, we were inspected by Estyn last July. We are pleased to say the report has now been published and is available on the Estyn website: www.estyn.gov.wales

    New Classes

    Our current classes are:

    Dosbarth Enfys (N/R): Miss Prothero,

    Dosbarth Gwyrdd  (Y1/2):

    Mrs. McDonald & Ms. Rees

    Dosbarth Glas (Y3):  Miss Adams

Dosbarth Indigo (Y4): Mr. Holloway & Mrs. O’Dare

    Dosbarth Fioled: Mrs. Bebb (Y5/6)

Dosbarth Arian: Ms. Voe (SNRB 1)

Dosbarth Efydd: Mrs. Grist (SNRB 2)

Dosbarth Aur: Mrs. Colwell (SNRB 3)

    Staffing

Mrs. Gould, our Family and Community Engagement Officer, will be working three days a week this year (Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays). We welcome Ms. Emma Jones to join Mrs. Gould in this role. Both will be happy to help with any concerns or queries you may have.

Our Additional Learning Needs Co-ordinator (ALNCo) is Mrs. Hughes. Mrs. Hughes works Monday – Wednesday, so if you wish to have a chat with her, or raise any concerns, it is best to make an appointment.

    Communication

It is vital we have your correct phone number as for most messages, this is our main means of communication. For longer messages, we use Seesaw so please make sure you have set up your account. Please speak to your child’s class teacher or Mrs. Gould if you need help setting up a Seesaw account.

    School Uniform

We expect all our children to wear school uniform. While we do not insist that clothes should have the school logo on, we do request that school colours (white, red, grey/black) are adhered to, including for PE, if they are wearing their PE kit to school.

The School Essentials Grant can assist with the cost of uniform, follow this link:

    https://www.gov.wales/get-help-school-costs

As children are very active in the school day, all shoes need to be secured eg sandals with buckles, no flip-flops. Jewellery and false nails (with the exception of stud earrings and watches) are not permitted; smart watches are not permitted. Children are not permitted to wear make-up to school.

If there are issues relating to uniform, please make an appointment with Mrs. Gould and we can discuss these.

Thank you for your co-operation in this regard.

    Summer Club

Our summer Food and Fun club was a huge success. A big thank you to all the staff who ran the club, and to the children who were so enthusiastic and well-behaved. We really hope we can run this again next year.

    School dinners

All primary school children are entitled to a free school lunch. Lunches are on a three-week rolling programme. To see what will be available each day, please go to:
