Greenhill Primary School

Gallwn Gyda'n Gilydd Together We Can

Welcome

July 2025, Newsletter

Dear parents and carers,

As we reach the final weeks of the school year, there's a real sense of pride and celebration in the air at Greenhill School. The children have worked hard this year — showing increasing levels of determination, creativity, kindness, and resilience in all they do. From exciting learning adventures in the classroom to sporting success, creative triumphs, and moments of real personal growth, it's been a joy to watch them flourish. Our school community has pulled together brilliantly, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything the children have achieved.

A Sad Farewell

Tomorrow will be the final day at Greenhill for Mrs Cheryl Kitchen who is off to enjoy her well-earned retirement. Mrs Kitchen has been a valued member of our team at Greenhill for 29 years and will be sorely missed by us all. However, she is planning to go on holiday in September, so we are also all very jealous of that!

Good luck and enjoy your retirement Mrs Kitchen from all at Greenhill Primary School.

PTA

The school would like to extend our thanks to parents and PTA members who have worked so hard this year and supported the school. From discos to Easter bonnet making their energy and creative spirit have helped to raise funds that directly benefit all the children. We are incredibly grateful for their support.

ESTYN

Our inspection report will be available from the ESTYN website in August.

Parking

We’d like to say thank you to parents and carers for your continued cooperation in helping us establish a safer and more organised system for parking in and around the school grounds. Your support in following the guidance has made a real difference to the safety of our pupils during busy drop-off and pick-up times. Just a reminder that only parents or children with a registered Blue Badge should be accessing the school car park and that speed must be limited to 5mph.

Also, we do hope everyone is enjoying the daily “Hi-Vis” fashion being modelled by our ever-stylish staff on patrol each morning and afternoon!

Food and Fun

There are very limited spaces left in the Food and Fun club we are hosting this summer. The club is open to children currently in Years 2 – 5 and will run from 9am-1pm between July 22nd and August 6th. Children will take part in activities and be provided with a snack and lunch.

Application forms for the remaining spaces can be collected from the school office.

Thank you to all parents and carers for supporting the school this year. A big thank you to all the children who have worked so hard. I hope you all enjoy your summer breaks, and we will see you again in September, fresh and ready to go!
