December Newsletter

Dear parents and carers,

Welcome to our December newsletter.

This has been a very busy month with lots of festive activities and events. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support over the past few weeks.

The Christmas concerts were very well-supported and raised a fantastic £779 on concert tickets and raffle sales.

Christmas Party

Our Christmas Party is on Wednesday December 20th. Children can come to school in their party clothes. The children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will have their party in the hall 1.30-2.15pm. They will then return to their class while staff prepare and decorate the hall. All children will then return to the hall for their party food. Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and 2 children can then be collected from their classes at 3.15pm. Years 3-6 will return to the hall for their disco which be until 4.30pm. These children can be collected from their classrooms at 4.30pm. All children must be collected. The children will not need any money for this party.

Staffing

Ms. Rachel Jones will be returning from her maternity leave on January 8th. She will teach

Dosbarth Melyn Mon-Wed morning, and Ms. Colwell will continue in Dosbarth Melyn Wed-Friday

Children’s raffle

The staff of Greenhill have bought some toys and gifts to provide the children with a free raffle. These will be displayed on a table in the hall and all our children will be given a raffle ticket, with the winners choosing a toy from the table. I wish to thank all the staff for their generosity in this regard. The raffle will take place on the last day of term – Thursday December 21st.

Blue Badges

From 8:45am – 9:15am, and from 3pm – 3:30pm, no cars are to drive into the car parks with the exception of the following:

  • Taxis/cars bringing children to our SNRB.
  • Blue Badge holders who need to exit the car to escort children into the building. (Please note, it the Blue Badge holder does not exit the car either because the child walks into school by themselves, or another non-blue badge holding passenger takes the child in, then there is no need for car to enter the car park.)

We ask for your co-operation in this regard as we strive to ensure the school site is as safe as possible at these busy times.

Dates for Your Diary

Last day of term: Thursday December 21st.

Return to school: Monday January 8th.

I wish you all a very happy Christmas and New Year.
